How the Journey Started

Coming from the beautiful foothills of North Carolina,  JB has had music running through his veins since before he can remember. The traditional music flowed down the streams and rivers from the mountains of East Tennessee where his musical heritage is steeped in rich music. Music that has been played for the queen of England, and is preserved in the Smithsonian…

For more than 35 years JB has toured throughout the southeast with this band. There were smaller tours that took the band to New York, Dallas, and Chicago, but the biggest fan base has developed in the southeast. “We were on the road all the time. There was one tour that we did that was all on Islands. 2 weeks in Key West, 2 weeks in Captiva Island, Fl, 2 weeks in Hilton Head, SC, back to Key West for another 2 weeks. We finished it off with a week in Amelia Island, FL and a weekend at the Sand dollar on James Island, SC. It was great! We were young and could go all night and get up do it again night after night. I think we played aver 250 days that year”    “Back in the day when we first started playing Margaritaville in Key West Buffett wanted us to be the “Shrimpers”. You know wear the slickers, boots and everything.” But I think the idea came from too much Tequila and Coronas”.  We’ve shared the stage on more than one occasion. Jimmy has been great friend to me. Though we’re not the Reefers, Jimmy knows if he wants to come up and jam at Margaritaville, or play a show like the Friday afternoon Street Fest he has no worries that we’ll have a large time and play some great music”.    Throughout the years Jonathan has either supported or shared the stage with such greats as Jimmy Buffett, Edwin McCane, Mac MacAnally, Robert Earle Keen, Allison Krauss, Guy Clark, and Dale Watson, Brooks and Dunn, Tower of Power. Just to name a few.
